In order to cultivate practical knowledge of economics and management to cope with the age of information systems and internationalization, and to bring up capable talented students contributing to the economic development of our country, the College of Economics and Business Administration teaches and studies the newest theories in the areas of management, accounting, international trading, management information, information statistics, etc. In addition, we conduct both practices and studies closely related with a range of businesses and communities in order to apply those theories. Teaching students to have creative thinking abilities and sharp insight into economic and social phenomena, the College of Economics and Business Administration trains high-grade professional workers, by using computer equipment, electronic materials, various experiments, and practices in combination with research institutes from within the school and graduate schools, who will take charge of part of our country’s continued economic growth.
Our programs prepare students for challenging and interesting careers, in the context of the fine liberal arts education provided to all Hannam students. Essential to both professional and liberal education are strong interpersonal capabilities, including oral and written communications, and the confidence and ability to address both technical and human dimensions of organizational life.
Department of Business Administration
In business, administration consists of the performance or management of business operations and thus the making or implementing of major decisions. Administration can be defined as the universal process of organizing people and resources efficiently so as to direct activities toward common goals and objectives. Through integral education and studies of efficient management and administration of businesses, we bring up capable management administrators and economy experts needed by all types of organizations such as national corporations, public offices, securities companies, banks, and foreign research institutes.
Department of Accounting
Accountancy is the art of communicating financial information about a business entity to users such as shareholders and managers. This style of communication is generally in the financial form statements that show in money terms the economic resources under the control of management; the art lies in selecting the information that is relevant to the user and is reliable. We educate managers specialized in accounting who pursue efficient management and maximization of the profits of businesses based on accounting information of management activities. Many graduates work as certified public accountants, licensed tax accountants, investment consultants, asset managers, management guides, housing managers, and public tax officials.
Department of Global Trade
International trade is exchange of capital, goods, and services across international borders or territories. In most countries, it represents a significant share of gross domestic product (GDP). While international trade has been present throughout much of history, its economic, social, and political importance has been on the rise in recent centuries.
Aiming at educating experts in trading in the global age, we teach theories of international trade and practical work abilities including English, computers, and the Internet. We also train experts in international trade who work in businesses and banks, establish trading companies or serve in government agencies using their practical experiences accumulated in the stage of international business.
Department of Economics
Economics is the social science that is concerned with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services.
Economics is one of the key subjects in social sciences to explore the social structures on the basis of human economic activities. Today, every social aspect changes so rapidly that we need to have a new type of professional to meet the needs of our society. In line with this, we train students to equip themselves with a balanced education in theories and practical experience, who will play a major role in a variety of fields such as industry, banking, finance, international business, etc.
Department of Business Statistics
Business statistics is the science of good decision making in the face of uncertainty and is used in many disciplines such as financial analysis, econometrics, auditing, production and operations including services improvement, and marketing research. These sources feature regular repetitive publication of series of data. We train students to retrieve a wealth of information from a variety of sources, effectively analyze it, and provide it to a wide range of users. Graduates actively advance into government agencies, businesses, banks and research institutes, etc. and serve as staff members of the Korea National Statistical Office, quality control workers, and social survey analyzers, etc.
Department of Convention Management
Deliver superior and innovative education in order to promote the value of professional convention management is the main mission of Hannam University. The convention industry in the 21st century is a knowledge based industry that draws people together from around the world as different interest groups join together over everything from business to hobbies. Its importance increases every day to the extent that it is adopted as a national strategic industry by many advanced tourism countries. The convention industry primarily refers to the service related industries such as the operation of convention centers and exhibition related industries. Its economic spin-off effect is very big as it is linked with a variety of other industries. Accordingly, we cultivate students' abilities to attract and operate conventions centering on systematic field practices and train certified international convention planners and experts in the areas of convention centers, international organizations, public organizations, foreign businesses, exhibition and trading companies and domestic/foreign food service companies, etc.
