Korean Government Scholarship Program


Purpose

To provide international students with the opportunity to conduct advanced studies of undergraduate and graduate program at higher educational institutions in the Republic of Korea in order to promote international exchange in education mutual friendship between countries.

Available fields universities
  • Undergraduate course: 4- years courses at designed universities
    * University transferring is not allowed (e.g starting studies at the junior is not allowed)
  • Graduate course: Master’s Ph.D. course at general graduate schools of Korea universities

Korea language Training

Grantees are required to take in Korean language training courses within 1 year at language institution placed on the domestic universities. (Except who those who reach a certain level of Korean language fluency)

Qualifications
  • Both applicants his/her parents must be possesses the citizenship of the country of origin
    * Applicants should not be a holder of Korean citizenship.
  • Applicants should have adequate health, both mentally, physically, to stay in foreigner country for a long time.
  • Applicant who never have enrolled in the same KGSP course.
  • Applicants should be under 25 years of age as of the date of entrance. (Undergraduate)
  • Applicants should be under 40 years of age as of the date of entrance. (Graduate)
  • Have finished be scheduled to finish formal education of elementary, middle high school course as of the date of arrival. (Undergraduate)
  • Hold a Bachelor degree, a Master’s degree as of the date of arrival. (Graduate)
    * Person who have already registered at a Korean university can not apply.
  • Possess a grade point average (G.P.A) above 80% from the last education G.P.A. among classmates. (Undergraduate)
Procedure for the Scholarship Award
  • NIIED requests the Korean Embassy in the invited country the domestic university concerned to recommend cidates.
  • Applicants should submit all documents related to their scholarship applicants to Korea Embassy to their country of residence to the domestic university concerned.
  • The Korean Embassy the domestic university concerned sends proper cidates to NIIED with requires document.
  • NIIED evaluates proper cidates notifies the Korean Embassy of the final KGSP grantees.
